On March 17, 1842, twenty women assembled on the upper floor of Joseph Smith's red brick store--under the direction of Joseph Smith and two members of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, Elders John Taylor and Willard Richards. During the course of that meeting, Joseph Smith organized the women in a divinely inspired and authorized manner resulting in the Female Relief Society of Nauvoo.
We will meet together on Saturday, March 14, 2020 to commemorate this special occasion with a reenactment of that original meeting. There will be three sessions available in which this reenactment will take place--11:00 am, 12:30 pm and 2:30 pm. If desired, wagon rides will be available to take visitors from the Family Living Center (650 White Street) to Joseph Smith's Red Brick Store (865 Water St.). Please be at the Family Living Center at least 30 minutes prior to the session you would like to attend if you want to ride on the wagon. Each session will last approximately one hour.
