It is best suited for waiting or casual visiting while other family members are attending the Temple. It is furnished with comfortable lounge chairs, sofas, and has a small children's play room with toys and TV (for video use). The restroom has a convenient changing table for infants. Children must be supervised by an adult 18 years or older.Two films are available to be shown: (1)Temple Reborn. This 14-minute film recounts events in the history of the original Nauvoo Temple and depicts the interior and exterior of the rebuilt temple. The presentation also portrays temples in their biblical context and shows temples as spiritually central in the lives of Church members. It was shown at the open house of the Nauvoo Illinois Temple in May and June 2002. (2)The Restoration. This beautiful new 19-minute video was filmed on location, and vividly depicts the First Vision and the instruction Joseph Smith later received from the Angel Moroni regarding the ancient records of the Book of Mormon. It also includes music from the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, as well as the translation and printing of the Book of Mormon and concludes with the organization of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 6, 1830. |
