My first visit to Nauvoo was in 1964. The Brigham Young home was all boarded up. The church barely started it’s rennovation of this grand little village. In 1984, I was baptized as an adult. I go back to Nauvoo often to feel of the spirit there. It is truly a wonderful place. It has a special place in my conversion story, and remains a special place in my heart.

We came with about 175 people for our Youth Conference. I personally had an amazing time. We ran out of time for all we wanted to do. All the Missionaries were wonderful and come up to you like they have known you forever, and you feel that they really have.
We loved the music, play, bands and pagent. Thank you so much. Another highlight was going to the Family History Center and learning to index.
    Thank you.

We loved Pioneer Pastimes! Our ward went there as a group, and it was wonderful for all ages.

The first time I was in Nauvoo was in 1971. The old Mormon community lay in ruins, old buildings were in the overgrowth, and the sunstones were on the ground. The sorrow there was almost tangible. Now it has been brought to life again. Restored Nauvoo is under a bright bubble of joy and happiness. It was wonderful to have experienced the then and the now.

My husband and I like to escape to Nauvoo in the off season for a romantic getaway. The majestic beauty of the Mississippi is so tranquil. The entire town has a peaceful charm. A lovely visit all year round.

My husband, daughter and her family and I made the trip last year for the first time. At least for me. I was amazed how they replicated the village into what it once was. I’ve always heard about Nauvoo and was never fortunate to take a trip to visit. It was enjoyable and hope to return soon.

As I started to rap up my Browning family genealogy today, my husband asks about the Browning guns. Not knowing anything about Browning guns, I took a look anyway to see if there was any relation. Lo and behold, my line and the Browning gun family line descend from two brothers. You made my husband’s night. He is so excited about a future trip to this site. Bucket List #23. :0)
