The Nauvoo Stake Family History Center is located in the Nauvoo Stake Center

The Family History Center, located inside the Nauvoo Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, can help you piece together your family history puzzle. Located three blocks north of the Nauvoo Temple, the center has a staff of dedicated volunteers who can help you begin or continue to investigate your own family’s history.

Several large files of family history information are available at the computers in the center.

One of these files, Ancestral File, is a compilation of genealogies contributed by thousands of people, including patrons of other Family History Centers. The information contains millions of names, linked into family pedigrees.

Another file is the International Genealogical Index (IGI), which lists dates and places of births, christenings, and marriages of millions of deceased people who lived in the early 1500s to the early 1900s.

One of the best files that is available is the Nauvoo Database. This program is a massive electronic collection of hundreds of journals, biographies, documents, records, and Church information.

Complete sets of US Census Records, high-speed internet access to Ancestry.com are also available free of charge.
